diy oversized envelope clutch purse ideas
after carrying around a tote bag for nearly the last 6 years, i finally decided to try out a real purse over the past year. nearly broken of my tote habit (i do have 4 baggu's tucked away in all of purses...just in case), i'm starting to look around for neat purse ideas. for the spring, i love the big, bold oversized envelope clutches. i absolutely love them in bright summery colors, or bold graphic prints.
poking around the internet, i came across 2 tutorials! yay...hard work already done.
the first, is this envelope style clutch from swell mayde - so pretty!
next is a big ole clutch with a zipper, by style scrapbook.

I love clutches and I'm glad that big ones are becoming a trend. I have a lot of vintage ones that I love but they were made for ladies who didn't have to carry a wallet, keys, phone, ipod and camera all the time! (I know I know, I could get an iphone and have the last three items in one but I like my old phone and fancy camera!)
can I have the yellow one in the top photo, please?
I love these oversized clutches! So fun! ~Val
Love it!! I'm tall so I love oversized bags. What a great idea, thanks for sharing! :)
Great clutches, thanks for the links!

I love your blog! I was about to try and diy my own version of what you did, but I ran across this really cool site www.chimaandrose.com that has some unusual ones that I loved and had to have!
Great project! Where do you buy your leather?
