lauren moffatt: lovely prints, coats and contrasting colors

perusing gilt, i came across some wonderful stuff by lauren moffatt. i love all of the fresh bold colors, pretty prints, and contrasting piping. the silhouettes for the shirts and skirts are pretty simple...just sewn in some super flouncy fabric with lovely prints.

included were some really great coats! i've always been searching for the perfect coat, but always feel like they turn out to be so-so. i like how she includes contrasting piping on the cload...including the pockets! adorable. my friend has the second coat and think it's pretty lovely. the shape and detailing is so simple but pretty. i think i'm going to try my hand at my first coat pattern soon. i just bought a built by wendy coat pattern-making book, and will let you know about it as soon as it arrives!
