As a fervent lover of cats, I realized, I've never shown you my cat books. I find these little treasures at thrift stores or flea markets or the trash (!), and friends give them to me sometimes because I'm the first thing they think of when they see an old cat book lying in the trash on a NYC street. It takes work to be that person.
This is one of my favorites because it's really well done! The photography, design, humor and earnestness make this one the best. Every time I look through here, I imagine an old man, lover of cats, flipping through the page and chuckling. "That cat wants a drink at the bar!"
Before I head into cat-land, a few of my favorite things this week...
Oh man. My nana had an ancient book on cats, with pictures of kitties in amusing situations and witty captions. I read the heck out of that book, every time I went round there. From when I was a little toddler to a surly teen, I never got bored of it. This was the book. This was the same damn book! You just prompted me to order it from Amazon. Thank you for bringing back some fond memories. How lovely :,)
